Welcome!
A NOTE ON MATH:
We have started long division. In fourth grade, we do not use the standard algorithm. We will use area models (or "rectangle method") and partial quotient (or "expanded notation"). Students have samples of this in their math journals.
Below, you will find links for both methods of division.

A Note to Students and Parents - Organization and Expectations:
Students, the goal of fourth and fifth grade is to prepare you for the independence needed to be successful in middle school. Because there are now more students in your class, organization and independence are essential. This year, you will use a binder to be used daily for homework, class work, and keeping track of grades and progress.
Parents, this binder serves as an important communication piece from school to home. Please be sure to review the contents often. If any issues with returning assignments on time, completing homework organizer details, etc. arise, you may receive an email or note home from your child explaining this issue. Please pay attention carefully to your child's instructions and return/check/follow-through immediately so your child does not face further consequences. Thank you!
I am available to meet to discuss your child's needs. Please e-mail me at [email protected] to set up an appropriate time.
